Spearheaded by Reverend Father Manuel Fernandes, the church's blueprint was meticulously crafted by the Jesuit Priest Reverend Father Gaspar Soares. After a dedicated construction period, the church was consecrated in 1610, becoming a revered sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception.
